A Prairie Home Companion’s Radio Romance Tour 2013 hits the road coast-to-coast this summer, starring host and writer Garrison Keillor, comedian Fred Newman, Rich Dworsky and The Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band with guitarist Pat Donohue and violinist/mandolinist Richard Kriehn, two hours of duet singing with duet partner/fiddler Sara Watkins, absurd improv with sound effects, Guy Noir Private Eye, poetry, outright foolishness, and the News from Lake Wobegon.
I love Garrison
Garrison Keillor is "legendary" in our home. Lots of our friends have also been long-time Prairie Home Companion listeners. Seeing him live was great.
It was great to be able to see a Prairie Home Companion-style show in person and with local references.
APHC is an incredible show
The show met all of my expectations. There was lots of good music, humor, and story telling. Our seats were excellent and we could see and hear everything on state quite well.
Garrison Keillor is a wonderful entertainer
He's a great performer.
Garrison Keillor presented a show that was warm, humorous, and filled with song and talent. The show was certainly well worth the money -- three hours of pure enjoyment. I certainly hope that AMT becomes a permanent stop in his summer tour.
Garrison Keillor is a superub story teller. His shows always have something for everyone.
It was great and our first chance to see it live!!
Very entertaining and somewhat unusual. As a fan of GK I thought it was great but some people not familiar with his humor may take some time to 'get it'.
Anybody familiar with Prairie Home Companion would enjoy it.
great entertainment, beautiful theater
Loved that VOICE of Garrison Keiller. The accompanying ensemble was phenominal. Will be looking for a CD of this group if such is available!
Great show. Only complaint would be the air conditioning. It must have been approaching 80 degrees inside during the show making it very uncomfortable.
Outstanding quality, one-of-a-kind experience, Keillor is an American icon. However, I wish there had been video as there was with Peter, Paul and Mary. I would have enjoyed seeing the performers' facial expressions
This was pure entertainment for every minute of the show. There was nothing we didn't like about it.
very entertaining. good balance between his stories and music.
Very entertaining show!
Garrison is funny and charming. We loved the music, the humor, the theater itself and all the staff.
amazing that it was a 3 hour event. very entertaining with good clean fun
Funny and great songs/stories
It was an enjoyable evening filled with lots of laughter.
We loved it
Great Music, guests and Great Garrison Keillor stories.. First time visitor..Loved the Theatre, and the convenience to my home...
I have been listening to Garrison Keillor for many years and it was wonderful to see him in person. The show was well paced and the young woman had a beautiful voice. I would travel from Maryland to see him again. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!
Because we enjoyed it.
I have always wanted to see A Prairie Home Companion live and their Radio Romance summer tour definitively lived up to my expectations - all of the musicians and sound effects people were absolutely entertaining and no one can tell a story like Garrison Keillor. Loved it! 5 stars!
Garrison Keillor & entourage are down home America, yesteryear's radio shows, baseball, apple pie, the star spangled banner. Brings back good memories, and makes you feel good. We need more of that!
The show was wonderful and appropriate for just about every age. I am always in awe of Mr. Keillor's story telling talent, and he certainly did not disappoint me. The program was upbeat and fun!
Great mix of humor, song, and good fun.
He is just a wonderful performance artist and the entire format was great!
The show was first class entertainment! It was full of fun and lively toe-tapping music, really silly comedy, and even some sweet and melancholy moments and songs. The musicians and writers on the show have so much talent, in a wide range of areas. There was a sing along, which was beautiful, and throughout the entire show, the cast was having as much fun as the audience! It even went a little longer than expected, which was a treat!
Good clean entertainment
I love Garrison Keillor, his radio show and how it brings my family together around a radio instead of a t.v.
We're simply Garrison Keiller fans - have listened to his shows for a long time on Public Radio and made a special trip to Lancaster to see him and his gang.
I am a huge Fan of the radio program. Seeing most of the participants live was a thrill
Mr.Keillor and company capture a view of America in a way that does not offend the audience. Instead he takes us back to memories we had forgotten and a life more simple and cherished.
Garrison had so much more creativity with the Radio Romance tour in comparison to his Prairie Home show which is taped for the radio and fans who have been to both, like myself would appreciate that aspect and the extra hour of entertainment; This show ran 3 hrs. instead of two
The show was fantastic. Garrison is a legend.
Absolutely a Great show. We listen to his radio broadcast whenever we can.
Quality of performance was excellent.
Garrison Keillor is an American icon who is a joy to watch perform. He and his supporting cast gave a performance I will never forget. His storytelling ability and characteristic voice are simply amazing and I feel so lucky to have experienced this performance.
Keillor always performs well and provides a three hour show.
I have been a fan of prairie home companion for approximately 30 years. He is clean and a great story teller.
Very down-to-earth and entertaining.
Pure, clean entertainment; first-rate performances, wonderful, insightful comedy.
JUst the best!
great show. lots of variety which added to the fun evening.
A feeling of kindred kindness with a relaxed "at home" vist with a beloved friend and neighbor.
Excellent in person rather than on the radio! Really feel we got our money's worth! We loved standing and singing the patriotic songs just before the intermission!
this was one of the best shows that i have seen at american theater.
Garrison Keillor, in my opinion is an American icon. I would definitely attend another Garrison Keillor program.
My hero! Should be a national treasure( story teller, poet!
Well, first of all the show was well worth the price of admission! The stories, the music and the connection with the audience was great! Thanks for securing the program.
Fantastic entertainer with great band and guests.
Too long and too much repetition
It was an awesome show. It went for 3 hours and had all of the parts that their radio show has.
It was fantastic old fashioned entertainment
It was fabulous! Three hours of songs, comedy sketches and stories with Mr. Keillor and and his entourage! We saw his one man show last year were he just told stories for two hours - he was great - he doesn't disappoint!
it was what I expected and more
great entertainment and music
Incredibly well done in every way! Such a personable inviting show. The whole time was engaging, interesting, fun, and touching. Loved the music!!!!!
Just like the radio broadcast only you get to share it with a few hundred new friends.
So entertaining that 3 hours went by in a flash.
great shows and venue
We listen to Prairie Home Companion every week on radio. It was great to finally see him (and his musicians, etc) in person
Wonderful family fun!
Garrison Keillor is an American treasure--a great storyteller and entertainer. We thoroughly enjoyed the show.
It was everything I expected it to be and more
It was fantastic! My whole family (ages 9 to 50) loved it.
