If you love Doo Wop like it used to be, you won’t want to miss the extravaganza of stars scheduled to appear in our Spring Doo Wop Cavalcade. Join us as we welcome The Duprees, Shirley Alston Reeves (original lead singer of The Shirelles,) Willie Winfield & The Harptones, The Marcels, Lenny Welch, The Capris, Johnny Farina, and The Excellents. It’s an evening of musical memories not to be missed!
*Lineup subject to change without notice
American Music Theatre is proud to welcome all types of shows and concerts to our stage. Sometimes during the course of a performance, audience members will show their enthusiasm by standing and dancing, or may approach the stage, especially when encouraged by the performers to do so. Please know that AMT will make every effort to insure the safety of all guests, while presenting an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Have never been disappointed
Great line-up & sound system.
Total enjoyment from start to finish. Great music bringing back great memories.
Good doowop, great mixture of performers. An evening to "stroll down memory lane." The band was great because they didn't overwhelm the performers.
Great headliners...Love the Skyliners and the Duprees, and you have nice, big, comfortable seats.
Wasn't as good as I've seen in the past, however we all are getting older. The last group was excellent and could cut a record today.
Love doo wop and oldies and the energy of the performances.
It was our first Doo Wop show and we had a great time. It will not be our last.
Great acts and lots of memories. The only negative comment that I have is that each group did an average of 3 songs. Some groups had more than 3 hits, but still choose to do "someone else's" song as one of their selections. I'd rather hear them do three of their biggest hits instead of their interpretation of another artist's song(s)
Excellent show love doo wop and rock and roll
Every seat in the house has a GREAT view and the sound system is fantastic. Also, your staff, ushers, consessions, are very friendly and courteous. My wife and I and a friend of ours enjoy coming to the theater for the great performances.
Not only for the walk back in time but for the great performances.
The entertainment was wonderful and most nostalgic.
Any one who loves DO WOP this is the place to go AMT.
It is a very enjoyable evening. The groups all bring back memories of a fond time in our lives.
Nothing like the oldies!!!!
Brought back some fond memories.
Good show. Emil Stucchio was fabulous. You need to get the audience a little more involved.
Excellant performances in a venue that is comfortable and easy to get to.
I am a record collector of 50's and 60's music and did a lot of private DJ work for years in Lancaster County and the current age set of people fall into this area at present and as you can see both shows again were sell outs which shows you I think you need more and more of the 50's and early 60's music in the future PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
THE DOO WOP SHOW ARE ALWAYS GOOD
The show was good but I was looking for more real doo wop like I have heard at AMT before.
I did not like the first half of the show. Second half was excellent.
Excellent music. Very entertaining. Brings back great memories.
It was so good to see the artists from my teenage days. To see that they are still going strong and it brought back good memories.
Great music. Brings back treasured memories
my kind of music
This was the best doo wop show we saw at the AMT. The entertainers sounded great but at times the band was a little too loud and overwhelmed the singing.
We loved the show and since most of our friends are of the same age, they would also love it.
I love the doo wop shows and wait outside Tuesday mornings from 4:30 am for my front row seat know many personally but especially Duprees could sing different songs can predict now like a carbon copy
Enjoyed every performer. So many memories brought back. Great value. Such comfortable seating.
it`s always a great show spring and fall doo mwop
The music was good, the show entertaining. It would have been better to see the performance up on your screens though.
A lot of good acts, several of which are not on the East Coast very often. I wish that they would let each act sing several more songs however.
Because it was excellent
great choice of acts, great music...a real memory maker
Last 3 groups were the best, but all enjoyable
best show I have seen and I attend both spring and fall doo wop shows every year.
I would like to see black groups included.
Lovely venue, comfortable seats,nice personnel.
The Happenings are not Doo Wop. In addition, Bryan Hyland is not Doo Wop. Enjoyed last years show much more. The Tymes , Channels, Chantels are Doo Wop.
Great entertainment at a reasonable price. Also, plenty of parking and comfortable seats.
great show. we had a good time
There weren't as many older DooWop Groups
we really enjoyed the show
All of the performers were 1st class
because it was a good show
very enjoyable, great music from my past!!!!!!
It was fantastic
excellent doo wop groups
Great music. Great show. The singers all still had incredible voices and an amazing amount of energy.
Good music. The only thing that they could do is to get new jokes. We have heard some of them at least one or two times before.
I CAME FOR THE SKYLINERS. WAITED 50 YEARS, DROVE 13 HOURS ONE WAY AND NO ORCHESTRA AND THE SKYLINERS NEVER APPEARED OUT FRONT ALTHOUGH WE WAITED UNTIL MOST PEOPLE WERE GONE AFTER THE 2:00 SHOW.
It was great entertainment and Brian Hyland was fantastic.
It's great fun for us "oldies" to revisit the good old days
My wife and I treated our 14 year old granddaughter Hannah (who happens to be a musician playing in the school band since 2nd grade) to this show to give her a very good idea of the doo wop music that we used to listen and dance to when we were her age back in the wonderful 50's. All 3 of us sincerely loved the show. We were so enthused by the music that we are now anxious for great Spring weather to arrive so that we can back the 58' Impala out of the garage, turn on our doo wop music and start cruisin'. I would definitely recommend this show to all who loved the great music from the 50's (is there really any other kind............REALLY?)!!
Performers were first-rate professionals, sang extremely well considering their ages, and did a terrific job entertaining the audience.
The list of entertainers was great.
Some of the nd good groups did not sound well (Skyliners especially).
Was a great show!!!!!!!! Always is!!!
I realize that most of the the original group members are deceased, but I didn't like that there was only one original Skyliner and no original Duprees although both groups gave decent performances. Should have left Chris Montez perform more songs because he gave a terrific performance and was the best act. Brian Hyland's "Gypsy Woman" and the Classics "Til Then" made the show worthwhile. The Happenings also sounded good. The house band was exceptional and deserves credit.
Love the oldies - Doo Wop - to hear the old groups and hear them sound so like they did in the 50s - 60s - what a treat!
Excellent show for Doo Wap fans.
EACH GROUP WAS EXCELLENT
Love those great oldies; where would we be without them!!
wonderful accommodations; comfortable seats; great selection of "groups" . . . .ONE PROBLEM . . . I have been to many doo wop concerts at AMT; however, this time I sat on the RIGHT facing the stage . . . our group noticed that the singers stood either center stage or to the LEFT SIDE (if you were looking at stage) . . .a few came over to our side; some didn't even come over at all . . . why did this happen? I have always seen the groups move to both right and left side of stage . . . we were disappointed in this.
Great to see these entertainers still have it going for them. Makes me feel still young.
I went home that night and purchase ticked for the Doo Wop Sept. 13 th 2014
because people growing up in the 50's&60's had a flashback of good-old times!
Great acts, terrific M.C. Sound was very good. The singers brought back a lot of great memories.
Great Show and Great Entertainers
Was a lot of fun!
Enjoyed it a lot and am at the age that I knew most of the songs
My husband became ill, and we were sadly unable to attend the show.
great musical memories created that night
Did not care for some of the performers.
The show and the theatre were great really enjoyed
The music was terrific...the voices were as good as their records so many years ago.
Very good entertainment.
Good music, good time.
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show. Each group was fantastic! Better than I ever expected.
It was a great show. The performers were outstanding.
THE SHOW WAS THE GREATEST.
The acoustics are awful. The background band drowned out the vocals. And this is "doo wop", vocals are EVERYTHING.. just awful
The entertainers were fabulous. I wish it was longer
It was fantastic!!
Great music, Good performers.
Great variety of Great performers
Just loved it!! Where else can you go and get 2 1/2 hours of such great entertainment for such a great price!!
It was even better then last falls Doo Wop show, more energy and the sound seemed more crisper easier to hear.
I have not been to a bad show at AMT, however this show was exceptional! The performers were energetic, talented, comical and truly enjoyed entertaining the audience
ENERGY OF THE SHOW, UPBEAT, GREAT PERFORMERS
It was a good show.
The artists you invite to the shows are fantastic and the AMT Theatre is roomy and comfortable. Its worth the 2 hour drive from central NJ
Performances were good. However, show was advertised as DooWop Cavalcade and most performers were solo performers and not DooWop genre. A misrepresentation in title, I feel.
Wonderful.....sound was outstanding...loved whole show..will definitely retirn.
All of the acts are fabulous, but I'm partial to the Duprees. I never get tired of hearing or watching them. If you're on the fence about coming to the show, just do it. You won't be disappointed.
Brian Hyland is the best part of the show but the rest were great too.
Great M.C., excellent acts (especially Jay & the Tokens, but we enjoyed every one), comfortable theater, friendly ushers/ticket takers, easy parking across the street; totally positive experience! Probably the best doo wop show we've seen at AMT.
Great show that brought back so many wonderful memories!
Love the Doo Wop shows!
Most of the bands were good; however, the Dimensions were terrible. There seemed to be problems with the sound system for the first few performers. It was difficult to hear the lead singers.
enjoyable bring back memories great music
Great talent. Lots of different performers
A GREAT show....The BEST Doo Wop ever....I closed my eyes and I was young again, dancing a the HS on Saturday night. I remember stolen kisses listening to this music, and I received several stolen kisses Saturday night. My feet are still tapping, and my heart is still giggling.
Outstanding intimate Venue and Most shows very appealing. Already have another show booked this was our first time there!!!!!!!!!
Most of the performers were great, especially the Tokens, the Legendary Teenagers, the Tymes, and the Chantels.
Great groups from my teenage years and I know they will not be round forever.
The line-up of chosen groups is ALWAYS awesome. The MC was fantastic, as usual...I can't remember his name right now, but I love him and can't wait to see him in the Fall. The band is awesome ALWAYS and the atmosphere is phenominal. The whole show is well planned and SO MUCH FUN.
It was a great show. The only criticism I have is that there are too many acts and limited performances from all of them. I drove all the way from Columbus Ohio to see the Excellents. Would have like more than 3 songs.
Great show....Lots of entertainers and variety.
I really enjoyed the music, they put on a good show.
geat show by great performers
Great groups. Loved their songs and how they talked to the audience.
Great old acts with great singing throughout.
I love oldies rock and roll and doo wop. It's my generation and us senior citizens have to keep that music alive because today's so called music is mostly noise!
Great music. Loved it!!!
Excellent music... great show!
Fantastic show. Wonderful talented cast. We really enjoyed it!
I would recommend this show to a colleague or friend because it was well done with excellent entertainment performers and entertainers. I especially enjoyed it because it was my era. I was a teenage in the 1960's & remember the songs of the 50's & 60's.
The performers were top notch!
I love the music, and I loved the performers.
Love the doo wop and all the group does a excellent job
If you were a child of the 50's and 60's, it brought back so many memories. We were amazed that the performers still had the vocal and performance qualities that made them famous.
if you like Doo wop this is the show for you. My husband loves Doo Wop and I gave him the tickets as a Christmas present and very glad I did.
Music overpowered the voices. The audio mix was not very good quality. Some of the groups were unfamiliar to me. This does not apply to the performers in the show but we had two ladies sitting next to us who talked continuously throughout the show. Had to have an usher speak to them but it didn't do much good. One was even on her cell phone during the show. They were very rude even after the show trying to make excuses as to why they were talking during the show.
Great talent and music...the girl who played the brass instruments was one of the best we have heard SHE WAS GREAT....stood to the right of the band and played 3 different brass pieces... ...AWESOME was the way to decribe her...
last group was NOT doo wop!!! Hated it! First half of show was very good...second half not so much.
A great show
love the show
Real band Dakota behind most the acts. Excellent! Seats were big enough to accomodate older individuals; concessions reasonable.
Outstanding performances. It just took me back in time.
The variety of the talented performers. We attend most doo wop shows every year.
Normally I would give this show a 10 - but this show lacked the excitement that other Doo Wop shows have had.
It was great
My wife and I love oldies, esp doo wop.....
Just so much fun, I was dancing in my seat and brought up so many wonderful memories of that time in my life. This is our 4 Doo Wop show and we will be there for the June show, God willing!!!!
every act was very good
It was entertaining, fast moving, we wanted to get up and dance. It brought back many memories!
Fantastic show probably one of the best, and I've seen a lot of them.
I enjoy the groups and your facility is great for this music.
great show, great venue!
A great show, Enjoyed all the Groups
We enjoyed the show , that was our era. memories.......................................
It was a great show.
Great acts good music very professional
Tokens & Teenagers were GREAT. Tymes & Chantels were good to very good. Passions, Excellents & Dimensions were good for their one main hit but so so on other songs. Dimensions band was bad.
The Tokens, Teenagers, Tymes, and Chantels were very entertaining. It was obvious that they enjoyed what they were doing. My husband and I attended the fall 2012 Doo Wop Cavalcade and enjoyed it so much we invited my sister and her husband to the March 2nd Calvacade. They really enjoyed it as well.
Some of the acts wern't very good, like the Deminsions
this show on 3/3 was one of the best that my wife & I have been to.
it was good, but the acts only play 3 or perhaps 4 songs and then it is over. The 2pm show went to 5pm, primarily because the host talked continuously. If you have seen the shows before, you know all the jokes and stories.
AMT always a great time
I absolutely love coming to many shows at AMT but especially the Doo Wop shows. That's the music of my teenage years; I love to encourage anyone who likes that music to come to AMT. But, I also like Clay Aiken and Paul Anka. Please bring them back to AMT.
I love the songs but some of the singing was "off". I thought the last two groups were awesome and would have paid the ticket price for them alone.
Some of the performers were very good; others not so good. Some songs were before my husband's and my time and therefore we don't remember hearing them before. The group singing "the lion king" song was a very good group; the last group "Time" were not as good. All in all we enjoyed the production. Thank you.
my wife and love the oldies and will continue to come in the future. we already have our tickets for Sept 21 st show.Johnnie Tillotson is one of our favorites. thanks for having the oldies. we love your theater John and Linda Heemann
memories of the great years as teeny boppers
Reliving the good old days with original groups in a perfect setting-doesn't get any better than that!
Some of the acts were very good and others not so much. On those their voices either had lost a lot of power or the sound wasn't so good.
The performers were top notgh talent and sound like they did back in the day!
We traveled 3 hours to the show because we wanted to see Kenny Vance but did not find out until we got there that he was not performing. The other acts were excellent and made up for the initial disappointment of not seeing Kenny Vance.
Of all the Doo Wops, this was my least favorite. The quality of the groups was disapointing. We did not even know some of the groups. The last 2 were the best. We are Doo-Wop'ers, so we will come to future shows, however we will monitor who the groups are in the future. We love your theater, and this was the first time in the balcony, & we were pleased with our seating
It was very enjoyable
This show included the most talented class acts anyone would want to see, from start to finish, it never disappointed
I'm 61 but some of the songs out of the first few groups I didn't know.
Very entertaining, Great music!
I thought the performers where great. I enjoy it.
I want to do everything I can to keep this music "alive". All the performers appear to have such a great time being on stage and really work to present an enjoyable show.
We loved the theater and the entertainment. We were glad there was an afternoon show.
Original sounds of the past.
Seen quite a few doo woop shows there and on TV-this was one of the best! Great voices, great performances-terrific
It's always a great show, but this year it was outstanding.
Great acts, good show, age-appropriate
AMT provides an excellent venue. We thoroughly enjoy all shows, and the Doo Woop is our favorite. Performers are exceptional and professional, and the appear genuinely pleased to be entertaining in Lancaster.
Good show but the sound quality was below usual AMT standards. Speaking voices were very difficult to hear and understand. I was in the balcony for this show rather than near the front where I usually sit so that may account for the difference,
Show was great.
A nice variety of groups and songs. Love to relive my youth through music!
very enjoyable and well programmed.
I love the Doo Wop shows and the venue is excellent. The theater gives an intimate experience and there isn't a bad seat in the entire theater! The seats are comfortable and I love the leg room between the rows!
Good performances with the type of music I like.
We enjoyed the show very much. The groups and band were excellent. We couldn't ask for more. It was a most enjoyable evening.
Excelent Show- Great groups-
Enjoyed 2nd half very much. Enjoyed a couple groups in the 1st half.
did care for the line up, some one hit wonders
a great variety of groups and songs
Like that type of music brought back good memories
It was a fabulous show!!
The performers were great. The sound was a little to loud and you couldn't hear the words to the songs in the first part, but that was not their problem. Show was great!
The fifties and sixties music is always worth listening to.
I did not like some of the groups and others programs were stale. I have seen the same performances before. Ie: Jay Siegel. Greaterformer, stale material.
i am a diehard doo wop fan!
Great show, great price and great place !!!
Always good entertainment.
I really love the music and the performers were great.
Very professional and entertaining. A great show for the price.
it`s a great night out for the money
