fantastic show, house band was so talented, and the dancers were terrific . . .keep up the good work.
I would enjoy seeing more younger people
Great Show
I wished for more dancing to be the focus instead of the vocals
Concentrate more on contemporary music & dance
We did not like the first half of the show. We did not feel that it was up to your normal standards. However we really enjoyed the second half.
The show was great and the dancers were excellent!
I thought the show was very good. The second half was my favorite
We just loved the show, it was excellent entertainment and the singers and dancers were the best, it was like being at a Broadway Show.
Good, solid performance, entertaining program.
I enjoyed seeing AMT promoting the young/up and coming stars before the actual show.
Not too excited with first half. Second half was much better.
we have seen several shows at amt and this was the one we liked the least.
WONDERFUL SHOW
We thought the dancing and singing. was excellent and the high energy level was terrific.
We have been telling everyone not to miss this outstanding show!
the cast was wonderful and soooo talented.
Show was great as usual.
Elvis wasn't really a dancer, but you should have had segments on Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, Cyd Carisse and Sammy Davis, Jr., instead.
Great show from beginning to end!
It was the first show I took my 5 year old granddaughter to see. She just started dance lessons and she was thrilled.
If we did not know better, we would have thought we were on Broadway
I only have one criticism, I really thought Billie Jean should have been sung by a male cast member. My friend felt the same way, even though the singer was very good.
As always your in house productions are fabulous!!
performers had lots of talent and energy
I think the show was great! I do believe as a professional tap dancer myself the history of the great old time dancers was a wonderful lesson for my students. I do however think the first half was a little slow and repetitive. The second half definitely kept the attention of the audience better with it's up tempo and modern songs. I am very impressed with the energy and quality of the singers being able to keep in step with the dancers as well as belt out a tune. Great Job Performers!
Well staged with excellent costumes and great choreography. The program had a nice pace to it and combined the different aspects of dance.
Loved the whole cast from the leads to the backups. High Energy, fast paced
The show was different than past shows.
I love dance but was pleasantly surprised that the dancers were singers as well. The old movie clips were an interesting touch.
The production was well done -- wonderful dancers and singers. I thought the sets were clever and unique.
We enjoyed the entire fast moving show.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because, at times, the music was just too loud. I left the show with a headache from the last few sets.
A very nice atmosphere and decor. Friendly staff. Excellent concessions-includes selections and prices. Gift shop is great!!
I enjoyed the creativity of the show. I did not enjoy the lolipop scene. To campy. Overall though the music was outstanding, the dancing was great, and the singer were spot on. It was just the filler stuff that keeps it from getting 5 starts
We enjoyed all of the show!!!
The show was simply outstanding!! Loved the concept of the show and it's presentation.
This show even kept my son's attention. He is 7 yrs old. I like to expose him to different arts forms and also sports. We went to this and he loved it.
Very energetic!
My friend and I enjoyed the second half more than the first. also it would have been nice to see more decorations on stage
The performance was excellent! The audio could have been a little lower.
Just came home from seeing Dance Explosion, Friday Sept. 9. I took my parent and we all enjoyed the show. Would have preferred more dancing and less singing; seems the songs were more the focus and the dancing took a back seat. Overall the entire company was great but the male dancers were not all of the same caliber. Some song choices were also not what I would have thought: Oklahoma instead of the Dream Ballet, an Agnes DeMille classic dance sequence?? A fun evening out, but with a few minor tweaks it would have been spectacular!
Terrific show
SO much variety and talent--- we just came back from a cruise and this show beat any one of the shows on a very large Norweigian Cruise ship.
Energetic and talented dancing and singing. Great choreography.
We enjoyed the performance as well as all the other performances we have seen.
We attended this show with our daughter and 2 of her friends.... a birthday gift to her. Ellen and one of her friends love to dance and I knew they would enjoy it. Enjoy, they did! Even the folks that sat behind us commented how they enjoyed seeing the girls enjoy the show =) They clapped, and cheered and did some [seated] moves, too! We all loved it!
excieting from beginning too end loved it. as usual
needs better song selections
I nhave been to a number of your produced shows. I like this one, but it was not one of my favorits.
Felt like this show was off a little but we didn't know why. Stray threads here and there on costumes, audio not quite right in beginning but was soon fixed. We had a wonderful time though.
Great show and great performers/dancers!
THE SINGERS HAD EXTREMELY EXCELLENT VOICES!!!!!
The Alice in Dance-Land segment ran a little too long, and seemed somewhat hard to follow at times
It was great from start to finish
Some of the dancing was overdone.
I went to see it last night, and it was fabulous. i got front row seats!
My friend and I attended the matinee show on Thursday, September 2, 2011. The show was excellent and exploding with talent for sure. Just a shame that so few were there to enjoy it. There were so many empty seats! That made us sad. This deserves to be seen and supported!
We enjoyed the show--clean as well as beautifully and professionally done!
Very upbeat and energetic show. Outstanding dancers. The cast had a lot of chrisma. Got a standing ovation.
Great show! The energy of the performers is something to watch.
Being younger than a lot of the attendees we enjoyed the second half more than the first. The first part was good but ahead of our time.
We just enjoy all your shows with the talent you have, costumes and everything keeps moving from one scene to the next.
IT WAS AN EXPLOSION FROM BEGINNING TO END!!!!!!.
Excellent dancing and a nice change of pace between scenes. Well chronicled choices of dances and good choices in the ones selected. Costumes were beautiful too!
We traveled 3 hours to get to Lancaster and i was alittle afraid of traveling that far and not having a good show. But it was wonderful and we talked about it all the way home. thanks,
could have done without Michael Jackson for the elderly
Very suprized how good it was..
I was exhausted watching the show. The action and the music were outstanding.
We sat in row F near center. The accoustics were much less enjoyable than if we had sat 6 rows back.
First half was somewhat of a drag and sometimes a little boring. Second half was all very good.
Costumes were beautiful & the performers were very professional.
I think Missy Clayton is unbelievable in every show she is in. My wife is mad at me!!
Nice varity of musical styles. Very talented performers. We come to the Christmas shows and recognized some of the same performers in this show.
LOVED THE SHOW-VERY LIVELY AND SO EXPERTLY PRESENTED!!!
It was not the best show we have seen at AMT and not the one we disliked the most. I would have to rate it average as far as our experience.
We expected more couple dancing and most of the show was group
Great talent!
very high quality show. great talent - even the preshow entertainment by the West Chester Ballet Troupe.
Another great original show. My wife said it was her favorite original show so far. She appreciates the dance and the costumes. My favorite is still last year's Christmas show.
We took our mother for her 92nd. birthday. All of us loved the show. It was very special for our mother to hear music from her time. We plan to take her to see your Christmas Show.
great performers and friendly staff
All the singers and dancers are very talented. Did not see one error on any of their parts. If they did error they covered it amazingly well.
I was able to talk to a couple of the performers after the show. First time I was able to do that!
From ordering tickets to attending show, staff was phenomenal!
We felt the 1st act really drug out, kind of boring.
We have enjoyed every performance we have attended at the theater and look forward to future events.
Act I was slow-moving. Selections were not as enjoyable as Act 2.
While we were in the wheelchair row Q, we had difficulty seeing well. All 3 of us are short and there were tall people in the last couple of rows of the front section.
I was hoping to see a little something from todays dance and more ballroom dancing as well.
The dancers were great
Three of us came and thoroughly enjoyed the entire show. Very professional, song selection was great. Dancers & singers were outstanding!! Always enjoy the performances put on by AMT.
I did not feel this was one of your best shows. The performers did their best (they were cute and their endurance was amazing), but something was missing. The show seemed to jump around too much. From 40's to the 50's to Alice in Danceland etc. Confusing.
I didn't think the choice of songs was very good.
We thought the show was fantastic and especially liked the way the different styles of dance were categorized by themes. One little problem was that sometimes the sound of the music was too loud and the soloists' voices did not carry over - hard to hear the lyrics. But otherwise, well done!
Dancers were great and they seemed to really enjoy performing.
I wasn't as fond with the first half of the show as the music was more my parents' taste, However, the second half was fabulous
the residents really enjoyed it, but thought the music was much too loud.
My group would have preferred the MIchael Jackson numbers not be the finale, but a more traditional form of dance, or something patriotic. Those numbers were too loud. The remainder of the show was superb.
Sometimes it was difficult to understand the words that were being sung - both in groups and in solos.
Talent was great, costuming beautiful, very enjoyable show.
The show was very well done, but it was not what I would normally want to see.
The music selection was varied. The dancing was good. The singers were excellent, but for some of the songs, the voices did not seem in tune with each other. It could have been the sound system. We would have liked to have seen some of the dances that were from each of the decades...50's, 60's, 70's...the most popular ones from each decade.
My granddaughter wanted to see the show for her 13th birthday, so I got the tickets. I was pleasantly pleased to experience the show myself. I loved it.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the second act. Our favorite performers are Michelle and Todd who we have seen in numerous AMT productions. Unfortunately, we felt that the first act was not up to your high standards. The first act was very slow paced and seemed disjointed. We do not understand what is was intending to project.
It was entertaining but not the quality that I expected. I expected more professional dancing, not song and dancing by the same people.
Although we were somewhat put off by the title of the show, we were very glad we went. First rate entertainment. Missed Missy, who was out with an injury, but everyone pitched in and Missy's absence was not noticeable. I didn't know Michele could tap, so that was a nice surprise.
I loved the high energy and costumes..and of course, the dancing!
Although the 3 others I was with thought the show was excellent, as a professional musician myself, I felt the music needed better arrangement & quality.
Excellent music and musicians! Great choreography!
dancers were super
What a show... Such talent and energy. I'm a big fan of the seasonal show and Christmas shows.
The very first number that they did, I really had a hard time understanding the words. But the other songs were more understandable.
The different genres of dance and song were great and appealed to all ages. The new cast members brought some fresh sound to the theater. Hope they're going to stick around a while!!
The staff was courteous as always and the seats were good.
1st half not very good - goofy music & dancing. Liked the 2nd half much better
Loved the dancing, costumes and music
Overall, I enjoyed the show. I thought the first half moved a little slower than the second half.
great show
NOT FAMILIAR WITH SOME OF THE MUSIC. ACT I SEEMED A BIT SLUGGISH.
THE DANCERS WERE NOT IN TIME WITH EACH OTHER-AND ONE OF THE MALE DANCERS APPEARED NOT TO BE AS WELL TRAINED AS THE OTHERS.
Did Not Care for the Dancing
Dances from almost every decade. Singers surpassed dancers in talent. Many costume changes. Outstanding musicians!
Very exciting proformance. Excellent choreography.
John's Somewhere rocked, Todd's fancy footwork was almost equal to his fantastic voice, but, as usual, Michelle's antics and sweet voice stole the show!
Would have preferred less singing. Overall, the performance was very much like that on cruise ship
It was fast moving and the dancing was very professional
The cast is so professional, it's like watching a broadway show in NY City. Great, great job!!! The theatre is so clean and well managed! We'll keep coming back for sure!
The show really moved and had no down times.
There are not enough good things to say about this show !!! My feet never stopped tapping !! The singing was terrific, the mix of dance was wonderful, and the cast was just superb, full of energy, and very entertaining !! GREAT talent !!
HIGH PRODUCTION VALUE, LIGHTING, SETS, THE BAND
As I was ushered to my seat there was an opening act. It was of the adagio talent. It seemed to be more entertaining than some of the shows I have seen in my time. It was EXQUISITE! As The show began I was thrilled to see Alice in Dance land. It was quite enchanting. The young lady chosen to be Alice was pleasant, entertaining, and eye catching. The way the show sailed through the years was beautifully done. I felt they hit where they needed to and had a very well selection of music. Although the Dance land was defiantly filler numbers and the cast has extreme talent, I feel it wasn't all used to its potential. I range shows on not how well the performance went, but by how I was taken away by it. Overall it was simply marvelous for me. 5 STARS!!!
My husband and I found this show to be fantastic! The music was great as usual but the dancers could not have been more spirited in there presentations. They gave their all.
This show was amazing!! People don't really appreciate how hard those dancers worked to learn all those numbers. I loved it so much and can't stop thinking about it! Great band, great vocals, great lighting and great dancing and energy!
We attended the show last night and for the most part it was a pretty good show. Not nearly as great as "Music of the Night" but still good nonetheless. We would give it three out of five stars. However, it was great seeing Missy, Michelle, Melanie, JP, Todd and Roberto back on stage. We look forward to seeing what surprises AMT has in store for the 2011 Christmas Show!
This was my first time to AMT and I must say, if all of your shows are this good, I will definitely be back! I'm 40 and my daughter is 13 and we both loved this show so much! The singing and dancing were Broadway caliber. It was the kind of show that makes you smile while watching it. Thank you for a wonderful show!
Great talent!!!
The show overall was good....I personally didn't care that much for the Alice in Danceland section.
As always, the costumes are excellent.
Would have given 5 stars, but I didn't care for the music at opening of the show.
I was somewhat disappointed in the show. I was expecting more dancing.
To much emphasis on the blonde singer
Although the AMT experience was good as usual, I didn't think the show itself was very good.
A frequent visitor to AMT, this may have been the best show ever!
The performers were outstanding
My wife and I very much enjoyed the show. The Michael Jackson segment was the weakest link.
great performances. excellent staging and lighting.
We enjoyed reliving the different dances of different times and the talents of the performers.
great energy, made us feel like part of the dancing cast on stage
My Grandaughter and I love it I HAVE 10 SO WILL BE BACK AGAIN
High energy, great talent, highly recommend
Absolutely a great performance and line-up of dances.
High energy show and very well chorographed!
fast paced and very entertaining
Very entertaining. Would give it a 5 if the show would have met my expectations.
It was not what I was expecting. I was hoping for more "ballroom" type dances.
1st half of show not so good
The dancers and singers were exceptional.
The dancing and singing was excellent as usual
As always a first class production at a first class theater. The value can't be matched anywhere.Broadway has nothing over AMT except the price of addmission.
My, oh, my! The dancers were Broadway-caliber.
Always an excellent production
Excellent talent!
Music and quality of music and performers were outstanding
High quality talent of all performers. Everything top notch from the singers, dancers and the band.
Between 4 & 5 stars. All were so very talented but I guess I expected more contemporary dancing. But it was very good!
Did not care for the opening numbers, but really enjoyed the show. Great cast,,
My husband and I enjoyed the show - the band was excellent and dancers - singing a little sketchy. Overall, we enjoyed it. Thank you very much.
Excellent Choreography
the first half of the show seemed a little slow, i really enjoyed the second half.
I believe there was ALOT of talent on the stage but some of the numbers ended abruptly and lighting was too dark. We were in row D.
Four of us came to the show and we found it entertaining, but we were a little disappointed not to see some of the ballroom dancing we thought it would have. Many of the songs you performed had a history of classic ballroom dance to them that was not done and your version was a bit of a let down. There were a few technical errors to include a regular lack of timing on the dancer’s part. When they would dance as a group they were not all in sync…such as turns and hand positions being all slightly different, causing them to look a little sloppy. Some of the songs did not seem to work with the higher pitched voices of your singers. However the singer did do a great job on the Westside Story. You band was terrific, they did a great job playing all night!! The small blonde lead dancer had good personality and did a nice job. During the Chicago tribute she was overshadowed by a much better dance partner. I realize the blonde lead dancer works well for the “Alice” character, and she is cute, but the taller, thinner black girl was a noticeably better performer. All that being said we enjoyed the show, but the dancers should work on their timing.
First half was somewhat slow. There was too much emphasis on older music. Wanted to see more contemporary music and dance. What happened to the 50's?
In my six years of attending your shows, this was my least favorite. I guess I like the singing more than the dancing.
You need to consider your audience - which are of a certain age.. THe audience loved the 42nd Street and Cheek to Cheek numbers. I did not like some of the dances. For instance, Blue Danube is a waltz. So why was most of that number done in twirls? I was hoping to see dances throughout time. The jitterbug, the samba, the twist, the frug, etc. Most of the audience was turned off by the Martha Graham style "dances". We did not want to see dancers on the floor like the Cats number. Very disappointed.
The show was too long for a dance show, especially the Alice in Danceland portion of the show.
Some of the numbers were too long in the first half, and too many were devoted to 30-40s era. I think it was overkill. I came with two other adults, and both felt the same way.
It was so enjoyable from beginning to end, I would love to see it again and again!
The cast members were fantastic. The show was high energy and excitement from start to finish. You can't find a better value in Lancaster County for your entertainment dollars. This was our first original show at AMT and we'll definetly be back for more. Thank you for a wonderful memory.
I loved the music and dancing of this very talented cast!!
The cast, as always, was excellent. Professional and extremely talented. Great musicians.
Everyone was enthusiastic and energetic throughout the show!
High energy! Stayed on our minds a long time. Would highly recommend.
Amazing ho wmany dances and routines the performers learned! Great costumes and colors
we enjoyed every moment of the show. The dancers, singers, music were fantastic.
What a talented group of dancers and singers! The lighting was excelent, as was the sound system.
Loved everything about it. I'm really enjoying Michelle Rajotte and Melanie Gaskin's vocals.Melanie is a great addition to your shows. Todd and John are great assets. I try to see all the regular shows every year. Watching the performers grow so much in their fields has been such a blessing to me. Andrea is doing a wonderful job as an writter, director and choreographer. Carl is new to me, but this show is a fine example of his good works. The orchestra is outstanding! The amazing energy that it takes and the way you send it out to your audience is very applaudable. May God Bless all of you and your families. Keep up the good work!
It was wonderful- fresh, exciting, and extremely well done
It was one of the better shows that I have attended there. The dancing and the added singing was excellent.
The choice of music was great hit all age groups. Dancers smiles made you enjoy the show you just smiled along with them. Guitar player was excellent.
fast moving
great dancers,great singers,great band.
As good as Broadway!
The energy and talent were amazing!
Upbeat, great choreography, music and set design.
We liked how it showed dancing from earlier times to present.
Good Sets, lighting, sound and musicianship The flow of the show was good, took the audience on a diversified ride One area I think that could improve is the comedy part of this show, I realize it's about dance, but comedy would give an extra dimension.
Great show! some sections seemed pretty short, however.
Band often too loud and could not hear singers, especially the ladies
Good Show, The energy of the performers is amazing.
Even at 75 years of age the first few numbers were out of my era.
good show
we sat in the balcony and the lighting blocked out quite a bit of the ability to see the performers. This was unfortunate as they were very enjoyable to watch. Hence a lower rating for the show. Sometimes the volumn was off , but that could have been some hearing problems of the viewer
The leading lady was too often in the lead. She is cute and excellent dancer but a greater use of the other women would have made a better performance.
The one who played the lead was in too many roles. She was not the best dancer but had a good voice. It was a little slow in the first half. I think I did hear that the lead dancer was out with a foot problem so that is probably why the one dancer was not as good. Attendance for a Sat. night was poor.
We only stayed for half.
prefer more singing.
Needed more of a story line - also Dance Explosion infers modern, power-packed dancing...this was more of a salute to dancing through the years.
sync...was off in too many dances
For many of the songs the words could not be understood. It is a high energy show, I didn't know what to expect and modern dance is not my favorite artistic expression.
Was sitting behind a very large man that blocked the left side of the stage.
The first half of the show seemed stilted and the dancers didn't seem to be comfortable. The dancers appeared to have more confidence in the second half of the show. Also, the sax player lacks a solid jazz tone.
1st half was a little slow
It was a very flat performance. It didn't engage the audience. I almost always feel a part of the show and usually want to dance as well. Too many old type themes. Not enough modern songs and dances.
After a spectacular Andrew LLoyd Weber AMT show, this was a definite letdown. The orchestra tried hard but need more members. The dancers performed their routines well but there were many missed possibilities - ie. - Real dance numbers from West Side Story instead of background dancing to singing "Somewhere", Jellical Ball in Cats instead of 2-person ballet to "Memory" , etc.
The songs were too old.
First half very weak, 2nd half was better. I also felt the 1st # was very amature. I love to dance and I love to see dancing, was very disappointed.
Quite annoyed that 2 musical theatre numbers were included in the Famous Feet section instead of the broadway part in the opening of the 2nd act...this made no sense. The first section included WAY too much of the same style of dance and was not very explosive. We would have liked to have seen more of a history of dance, to see how dance has evolved through the ages. Also, putting the name of the type of dance on the screen (salsa, waltz, samba, etc). The choreography in "Puttin on the Ritz" was far out of sync and wouldn't have been as noticable if they weren't using the canes.
Was very disappointed in the famous feet category. Needed more dancing, less singing; dancers that can really execute the moves; more dancers.
I didn't quite get the 1st Act - it didn't flow very well.
You will not be disappointed with this show ~ non stop singing and dancing from start to finish! The dance styles and choreography are wonderful, as well as the singing and band. Entertaining for young and old!! AMAZING CAST!!! Michelle Rajotte is quite the entertainer - LOVED her!! Thank you AMT for another great show! Don't miss this one folks!
I have been to many, many shows at AMT and I have never been disappointed. I was skeptical about "Dance Explosion" because I thought it might be boring compared to what is usually presented. Boy, was I wrong. I always come away wondering why these gifted people are not performing on Broadway or the like. The whole cast is tremendous, but Michelle Rajotte is just a super talent. Please keep these shows coming. I will be there!
The singing and dancing in this show was fantastic. I was engaged from start to finish and certainly would recommend this show to anyone that likes a variety of music types and dancing styles. The theatre is a very warm and comfortable atmosphere as well.
The show was captivating from beginning to end. I loved the varity of the music. The entire cast was super talented!
I thought it was very entertaining. Awesome performers !!
I attended the Dance Explosion show on opening night, July 29, and it was fantastic!! From the opening number, the troupe went through various eras of dance. The costumes were elaborate, the sound and music were superb, and the dancers were excellent! The versatility of the singers, dancers, and musicians was phenomenal. Whether you like traditional waltz, big band, latin, pop, or hip hop, you will not be disappointed! 5 stars!!
From beginning to end, this show was pure entertainment! I wanted to stand up and dance during several routines and the costumes were beautiful, especially the Tango attire – vavavoooom! This experience went way beyond my expectations. It blows me away to realize that these dancers were virtually unknown a short time ago. You can see that they love what they do and are fantastic performers! They engage the audience and keep things moving along without any boring moments between routines! It was neat to be able to watch the dancers from an angle as opposed to straight on camera shots that you get on similar dance performance shows aired on television. The lifts, jumps, turns, and poses all had extra dimension. Similar TV shows are great, but watching live performances in person is even better!
I saw the show last evening and it was fantastic. The dancers were top rate and the singers voices were phenominal. A highly engaging show! 5 STARS PLUS!!!
