American Music Theatre

I kept seeing pictures online of the show and seeing how much FUN it was there. And it really was. Wes got us started off and in the mood for a fun time. I loved how they played a "film" of the older classics and branched into the newer songs. It was incredible. The talent was amazing and so nice to meet after the show. I CANNOT wait to go and see "American Icons" now! Amazing show done by AMT!! Keep it up with the awesome originals!!

VOCALS WERE FOR THE MOST PART RIGHT ON, AS IF YOU WERE LISTENING TO THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS. THE INSTRUMENTATION WAS FABULOUS, ESPECIALLY THE VIOLIN/FIDDLE NUMBERS.

Andrea McCormick is doing an excellent job.

I think they could have sung songs that were #1 hits from the artists.

The show was wonderful. Wes and Michelle were fantastic, as usual and the new additions showed us that they are remarkably talented as well. The band was more a part of the show and contributed to the down home country feel. Please hang onto the violin/fiddle player. So much talent for such a young person. All and all SUPERB!

Although I'm not a country music fan there were enough "classic" music numbers that I enjoyed to make the show enjoyable.

Being a country fan this cover both the old timers like Waylon and Lorretta thru today and threw God in for good measure

The show was very professionally done and the entertainers were excellent.

1)Not enough dancing. I was hoping for LOTS of line dancing. 2)Women singing songs that were made popular by men was very disappointing. 3)Many of the songs were performed much faster than the originals - felt rushed.

We loved the song selection, and the stage presentation.

It lacked the "high energy" that we usually associate with AMT shows. Act 2 was better than Act 1. I did not care for the set and I felt that there was too much happening on stage while a singer was performing. It was distracting. We would have left after Act 1; however, we had brought guests with us. In sum, we prefer the format of previous AMT shows.

The original productions are always done with excellence.

The talent of the musicians and vocalists far exceeded my expectation. I will recommend to friends.

According to the program that was handed out at the beginning, a song by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw was missed in the second act. Otherwise, very pleased.

Having been coming to AMT original shows for about 12 years now, we found this show to be somewhat disappointing compared to previous productions. Wes and Michelle still did their outstanding jobs, but some of the other cast members were not at the same level as these two. The first half of the show lacked energy, and if it were not for the fact that we had brought guests with us, we would have left at intermission. In addition, the continuous "background action" by the cast members completely upstaged the soloists, and we found it quite distracting.

Nice show. Many great songs. Favorite vocalists: Wess, Julie, Honey and Sheldon. Terrific band. First half of the show started out slow and rather silly; but got better with more accurate renditions of the great country classics. Julie did a great job singing "How Great Thou Art." Jared and Michelle's sophomoric behavior was a disappointment...tone it down, guys!! And, when dancing, you look like you're grinding in a night club instead of dancing on the AMT stage!! Believing all the great reviews of this show, we brought my Dad (a huge classic country fan) to the show for his 82nd birthday... My husband and I were just hoping for a different, and a little more professional tribute to the great vocalists of classic country music.

As for singers and stage presence, Wes Cooke is the best.
Enjoyed Julie's great talents especially Patsy Cline number and How Great Thou Art. She definitely adds much to the show.
A bit too much of Michelle for my taste tho I admit she is a talented lady. First half of show was lackluster but second half made up for it. Can't wait to see the cast of American Icons.

I think we've been coming ever since Wess's first year and since then I've seen every "homegrown" show at leats once.

This was a good program. I'm not much of a country music fan, but it's certainly a forgiving kind of music when you want to break in such a large percentage of new people. And i know that there's certainly always an audience for country.

Michelle and Wess were standouts again. You need them both ... Partly to maintain the high quality that's always expected from AMT, and also so that the newer people can learn from them.

Down the road, I think Sheldon Rogers could become as well-known to the AMT audience as Michelle and Wess are. He blends really well and his nerves are not as obvious as the other singers.

The staging looked great. Not as pretty as some of the Christmas shows of course, but the set and blocking seemed to work seamlessly.

Lookng forward to "ICONS".

My wife and I agreed that it was one of the best shows we have seen at AMT.

Second time there and it was just as good the second time as the first.

The Country Classics is the best show I've seen at American Music Theater. I brought a busload of 51 people to the show, and everyone raved about it. Would highly recommend it to all!

One of the best shows of its type that I've seen. In almost all cases, the AMT performers sounded just like the original singers. Only comment along those lines: tenors should NOT be assigned Johnny Cash songs!

the show was wonderful avd I am coming again

I did not feel that the direction was as good as it has been in previous shows we saw.

the sound system needs clarity. Headsets seemed clearer. You have excellent voices that need to be heard more clearly.

A high energy show with lots of familiar songs. The vocalists were exceptional.The gospel songs at the end were great!

The songs were wonderful..what great voices they all had. I didn't want it to end.

Better than anticipated music and acting.

My husband and I are NOT country music fans. However since our past experiences at AMT have been so positive we thought we would try something that didn't really appeal to us. What a great cast. Without a doubt, country is Wes's thing. We also enjoyed all the new entertainers. Glad we stepped out of our comfort/preference zone.

The progam was fast moving and most of the voices were excellent.

We love country music and really enjoyed the music and being able to sing along.

Wes Cook is very talented and has great leadership skills on the stage with the younger, less experienced performers.

A WONDERFUL WELL PUT TOGETHER SHOW

It was kind of boring in places. I do not like some of the performers.

We danced our way out of the show! Very fast paced and entertaining.

All singers and band were outstanding. Selection of songs sung were the best.

The singers were very good, and the mix of songs matchd that.

We loved the show, just wish there was more of the Country Classics included.

Everything about my visit was incredible. The theater is beautiful. The performers are so talented and so very cordial. The show was fabulous.

Awesome selection of songs (except the Dixie Chicks)! The male singers were positively a 10. The female each had songs they were great at, but the opening ones didn't sound as "country" as I was expecting. Overall though, we absolutely loved the show!!! Thank you for having it!

My husband was reluctent at first to see a Country Western show, but he really like this one. He even clapped,which he don't do often.

I have been to many shows at AMT but the Country Classics Show we saw last night had to be one of the best if not they best. Please convey to your performers how much we appreciate the time,talent,skill and dedication that they all put into making the show what it is. You can just tell they love what they do.

I've been to alot of shows at AMT but was never at one of their own shows.It was worth every penny I loved the entire show and the fiddle player is incredible.

This show was fantastic because of Wess, Julie and all the rest. Love the song selections, the beautiful costumes and scenery. I was absolutely blown away by the song "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and "How Great Thou Art". I came home and google the Ghost Riders in the Sky and listen to Burl Ives, Vaughn Monroe and others and I must say yours was the best. Wish that you could do a CD with both of these songs done in its entirety as you did it on stage. Will be back in October to see Martina McBride and then the Christmas Show with Wess.

I have attended many of AMT's productions & have never been disappointed. From the lighting, stage scenery, musicians, performers and the ushers everything is top notch & very professional.

It would have been more realistic if the female lipstick could have been red, similar to the singer's picture that they were modeling.

There was a lot of good music, performers were very good and every thing was enjoyable.

Sometimes the music overpowered the singers.

Ticket sales over the phone or at the counter have always been great. People are very caring and courteous.

I didn't like some of the costumes. It should have been more colorful. I know it was a "country" show but it needed more color.

Band sometimes drowned out the performers Entry into the theater was delayed too long for older people to have to stand and wait.

It was the first time I've attended an original production and all those in my party enjoyed it tremendously.

First half and finale were tremendous/excellent. The "modern" not as enjoyable. [It was unnatural for a woman to sing "16 tons"!]

The first part of the show, I did not care for alot. It is toooooooo country. But once that started the more up to date music, we really enjoyed it.

I saw the show for the second time and will probably see it again. Everybody was excellent!! I would like to hear more songs from Jared, Sheldon, Julie and Honey, The band, piano player and the fiddle player were so entertaining!! Seems to get better every time you go back!! Glad I'm local!!

Like ALL the original AMT shows, there Simply Great. As a member for over 10 years now, I have sadly seen many of the great preformers there come & go for one reason or another, but only to be replaced with equal talent in most cases. Wess & Shelly, the oldest of the original cast now are always outstanding, even though Wess missed a year for personal reason's, it was great to see him back for the Christmas show last year. Shelly, the heart, soul, & funny girl of most of the shows remains to be fantastic in whatever she's asked to do. I hope that she never leaves. Julie, the new comer to the group from last years Christmas show was great in every way & I hope to see her again in the next show. The band was also great, because without a great band, you wouldn't have such a great show. A friend of mine & I can hardly wait to see them all again in American Icons in August which we already have our tickets. Keep up the great stage settings also because stage settings are also a big part of a great show.

This was my first time at American Music Theatre love country music and COUNTRY CLASSICS was a grat show hope to see more.

Just one word...Fantastic!

Saw the afternoon show yesterday. We were flat out blown away by the performers. Having seen many of the original artists do the songs - I was skeptical of a cover show. This show is so good we plan to see it again.

I had heard great things about the show and about Julie and Wes. Was not disappointed in the least! Love country music and this was show did it proud!! Thanks again.

I'll be the first to admit, I am not a country fan and have never been a country music fan. Going into the show I had my doubts but this show was wonderful and kept me entertained. Everyone in the show was great but Wess and Honey sure seemed to really stand out. I wish they would have sang more together, and Honey by herself. Great show, glad I saw it!

Traveled over two hours to see the show a second time and may see it again before American Icons. Performances and selections were outstanding.Many thanks to the cast,crew and employees at AMT for another great visit! See you soon.

I really enjoyed the show there were just some audio problems.

Where do I begin? Theres soo many great things about this show. I truly loved Wess Cooke, singing his finest, and his performance was phenominal. What he sang was just perfect for him. Julie has probably became my favorite female singer you have. She has more confidence from before and she puts her heart into her music, which shows. How great thou art, all I could do was cry at how beautiful she sang it. Willie Nelson song was sang by the wrong guy, it should of been Wess singing it. Another song that made me cry. And the man who sang Garth Brooks, was great. He was really good, hope to hear more of him. Phenominal show. This cast and choreography was your best.

Great selection of songs and fantastic singers....both all time favorites like Wes to the newcomers to the theatre.

Great music and talent.

Music quality was great; many times the singers sounded like the original country singers. We brought my 70-year-old parents to the show as birthday gifts for both of them, and they had a great time. They have been country music fans all of their lives.

we thought the show was very good. Just as good as any we saw in Pigeon Forge Tn last month and you are a lot closer.

Singing and Dancing group did excellent job with song selections and execution of arrangements.

My friend and I enjoyed the show very much and will be attending shows in the future when we plan trips to Lancaster.

I bought the tickets for my parents and they couldn't beige how good the singers were...they said how they actually sounded better than the originals! Fantastic!

There were 4 of us and we thought it was an excellent show!!! 4 more of our relatives are coming up on May 16th and I know they will enjoy it. We loved everything about the show and the performers were awesome!!

After we arrived I was worrying that "older" country music would be played and I might not know alot of the songs. Not the case at all. The older tunes that were performed were classics and they kept me happy with the newer songs that I know. I believe there was enough variety for all ages that were there to enjoy.

Talent and songs were outstanding, very impressive

The performers did not act " natural" in the first act -- a bit forced feeling to it. Micing not consistent. Some songs the Vocalist was too loud thus fuzzy words, other songs the insturments overpowered the vocalist. I found it hard to hear a female performing a song usually sung by a male - it lacked the deep richness of the male voice.

I just found it to be an outstanding performance by one and all. We saw the Christmas show and knew this one would be a good one too. Was amazing

I enjoyed the show, but thought it was a little to loud.

It was wonderful from beginning to closing. Our hands were sore from clapping almost continuely.

Everyone was very good and I was so glad to see Wes Cooke there. He was a great asset to the show.

Thought it was a great show...already rebooked to see it again. Would have like to have seen them do Faith Hill and Tim McGraw but other then that it was a gr8 performance.

We had great seats and were thoroughly entertained by both the singers and the band as well. We took advantage of the Mother's Day MOM for free promotion. They loved it too!

Though I am not a huge fan of country music, this show was very enjoyable and entertaining. Wess Cooke gave that down home country feel to it. Michelle's vocals are amazing, and Julie's performance of " How Great Thou Art" was a show stopper. The fiddler, Michael Lambertson blew me away with his flawless, seamless and consistent performance. He made the show extremely entertaining From what I understand he is a trained classical violinist, and to effortlessly fiddle "Orange Blossom Special" and "Devil Went Down to Georgia" like he did shows he is top of the line. His performance in "How Great Thou Art" was perfect and a beautiful background to Julie's vocals. Michael is truly amazing! Sheldon has a great voice for country, his talent is unmistakable. The drummer did a fabulous job as well. This is a must see show.

Now this show was absolutely phenominal. The talents were unbelievable and its a show that once you see it, youll want to see it again and again as I did. Wess Cooke, a true leader and he took charge of the show. I was glad and happy to see him being the lead in the show. All were great, including Julie, which she had several performances that were stand up. Wess Cooke, that was your show, and it shown. Choreographed perfectly.

Such a friendly staff at this theatre. The show was phenomenal, however I wish we could have heard more from the new female and male singers, they were phenomenal. Other than that it was a joy to watch!

Moved Right along

The vocalists were all great - especially enjoyed Wes- this show was tailor-made for him!

It honored country stars of the past -- giving good early & later pictures of each of the major musicians --- which was informational. I'm not a big country fan, so I wasn't sure how I would enjoy the show. The variety of song styles plus including both familiar & unfamiliar tunes kept my interest. Encouragement to "sing along" made it fun to relive the old familiars. Loved the voices, the dancing, & the costume changes too.

Good mix of old and newer country music without all those instrumental rock-type riffs that most shows have. We had guests with us and they absolutely loved the show.

Wes and Michele were outstanding as usual and the new talent was exceptonal.

The only negative comment is that, at times, the sound was too loud. Sometimes the voices were drowned out by the other musicians.

Songs were performed as originally recorded. No ad libbing or "Jazzing up". "Band" very professional and a class act.

My family aged 11-45 enjoyed every minute of the show

The best show I have seen in a long time. I am from the south so this was just perfect. Would like to have seen a bit of bluegrass but other than that it could not have been better.

Probably the best AMT Original show I've seen! Wess was great as always and Julie is the new AMT Diva - what a talent! The band was awesome, especially the young man on the fiddle. If you can fiddle "Orange Blossom Special" like that, my hat is off to you! I will probably try to go see the show again this summer!
